So, that is just one way I’ve been able to deal with my pain - By helping others deal with theirs. That year, I got to sit on my couch, smile, and feel peace. I didn’t put my name on them, because I wanted them to feel like they had received a gift from their child. Then, the week of Mother’s Day, I boxed up 120 pairs of pearl earrings and sent them all over the country, along with two pairs to other countries. So, I created an email address called Not Forgotten 100, and I gave it to everyone I knew, so they could share it with a mother who had lost a child. On my way home, something sparked the idea in me to send 100 mothers 7 mm pearl earrings for Mother’s Day from their child. Mother’s Day is Extra Special The first Mother’s Day after my son had passed, I went to the ocean. What worked for me during that time was diving into my spirituality and recognizing that my son is still here with me, even though he’s no longer physically present. I get to talk to clients all the time about how I’ve been able to heal and give them pointers on how they can get through the same thing or something similar. I have learned to take my pain and use it to help other people. Helping Others Find Healing About three years ago, I lost my 23-year-old son.
